- Scars
- Uneven skin tone
What type of light and lasers are used?
1064nm Neodymium/YAG laser that stimulates the fibroblasts in the papillary dermis to lay down new collagen by heating them up.
What is the procedure like?
Laser Genesis is a unique, non-ablative procedure that promotes healthy looking skin including the reduction of diffuse redness, reduced pore size, and improved skin tone and texture. The procedure takes about 20 minutes to perform for the face. It is painless and creates a gentle warming of the skin. There is no downtime and patients may resume their normal activities that day. This procedure uses a very powerful laser pulse over a millisecond time period that results in the skin’s epidermis laying down new collagen that evens out the texture.
How may treatments will I need?
Most patients note a 30 – 50% reduction in pore size and fine lines after a series of 4-5 treatments.
What does it cost?
Package of five full face treatments: $1500
What are the alternatives?
CO2 and Erbium resurfacing are ablative procedures that vaporize the top level of skin. They are much more expensive and painful. They require anesthesia and at least 4-6 weeks of downtime while the skin heals. Both cause the equivalent of a 2nd degree burn which requires dressings of Vaseline impregnated gauze for about four weeks. These laser resurfacing techniques should only be used in severe cases of scarring.
