Titan FAQ's

Titan

What does Titan do?

The Titan uses infrared light (not technically a laser) to treat skin laxity by shrinking collagen fibrils in the deep dermis while keeping the top layer of the skin (epidermis) safe through continuous cooling. In addition, the heat from the Titan procedure stimulates long-term collagen synthesis that leaves patients with younger, tighter looking skin.

What is Titan used for?

Titan works best on thin, loose skin. It is most effective on skin laxity around the eyes, cheeks and neck. It can also be very effective on other body parts such as the abdomen and above the knees.

What type of light does the Titan use?

Titan use long wavelength infra-red light that ranges from 1100-1800nm. This longer wavelength has the ability to penetrated deeply to stimulate the deep dermal tissue.

What should I know about the procedure?

The Titan procedure treats lax and redundant skin throughout the body including: the face, under the jaw, abdomen, thighs, and above the knees. Three sessions about 4 weeks apart are used to get maximum results. A full face takes about 60 minutes with minimal discomfort. 80% of patients will see some result by the time they leave the office. There is zero down time and most patient leave the office looking better than when they entered and the result last several years.

How much does the procedure cost?

Cost is depended on the size of the area to be treated, a full face will typical cost about $1200

What are the other options for therapy?

Thermage is radio frequency (longer wave length) and requires a nerve block (anesthetic injected into the skin to deaden the nerve) due to signifant pain. Thermage causes a disproportional heating of the subcutaneous fat layer and is 15 degrees C hotter than necessary to cause collagen contraction (hence the much higher complication rate). Over 90 percent of patients that have Titan are satisfied. That number drops to less than 30% with Thermage. Average cost for Thermage is $2500-$3200 for a single treatment of the face. Worst still is that in rare cases Thermage can cause damage to the underlying fat which requires surgical intervention to fix. Overall Thermage is very painful and not very effective.

Titan has been featured on multiple TV shows such as Oprah and The View. It has also been seen in a multitude of magazines. Click on the “Press” link for more information.
