Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) Overview
Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) is one of the most effective lasers that we currently have in treating vascular lesions and performing scar revision treatments. PDLs were created almost 40 years ago but have undergone some significant improvements over the last couple of years. That is why it is so important that your treatment be performed in a facility with updated knowledge and equipment.
PDL can be used for a multitude of vascular lesions including:
- Fine Vessels
- Rosacea and Diffuse Redness
- Cherry Angioma
- Port Wine Stains
- Hemangiomas
- Scar Revision
- Stretch Marks
- Warts
Before the PDL procedure, a topical numbing cream may be applied for about 30 minutes. Next, the skin is cleaned off and appropriate eye wear is put on by the patient and provider. The laser pulses out a short burst of cool air to protect the tissue and then fires a laser pulse. After the treatment, a cool gel pack will be applied to the treated area. You may notice some mild redness and swelling, which will resolve over the next day or so. Pulsed Dye Laser treatments can be repeated every 4-6 weeks.
Colorado Skin Care is one of the leading providers of PDL in Denver, CO. For more information on the Pulsed Dye Laser treatment or to make an appointment, please call our office at (303) 683-3235 or request a consult online.
