SmartLipo Body Sculpting Overview

This SmartLipo is a quantum leap forward in the science of body sculpting. This is good news for Denver and Colorado Springs because this non-surgical liposuction offers incredible results, beautiful skin tightening and virtually no downtime. Recovery time is usually only a few days and can cost significantly less than traditional liposuction (because patients do not require general anesthesia).
SmartLipo uses laser technology to melt the fat within the treated area. In addition, it will smooth and tighten skin to decrease laxity that can be seen with traditional liposuction. When compared side-by-side with traditional liposuction, SmartLipo produced 80% more skin tightening. It can be used to treat any area of the body such as the abdomen, chin, flanks, thighs, arms and buttocks.
SmartLipo was approved by the FDA in 2006 and is the first laser to have an indication specifically for fat destruction. This laser technology utilizes a 1064nm wavelength, which is absorbed by the fat cells. This energy breaks down the fat cells so they can be removed. This particular wavelength not only targets fat but also coagulates small blood vessels resulting in less bruising and shorter downtimes. The SmartLipo MPX also has an additional wavelength (two lasers in one) at 1320nm. This new wavelength is only present on the latest version of the SmartLipo laser and is specifically designed for heating up the dermis of the skin to cause the maximum amount of skin tightening.
Due to its small canula size (2mm vs the typical 6mm canula for traditional lipo) and its ability to halt bruising, SmartLipo has significantly less side effects than traditional liposuction. The SmartLipo procedure can be performed in an office-based setting with minimal discomfort while the patient is awake. It is not necessary for a patient to be put to sleep using general anesthetics nor do they need to be admitted to the hospital for the procedure. Compared to traditional liposuction, SmartLipo can provide better results especially with superficial sculpting, skin tightening, and causing less side effects, which results in less downtime and lower cost.
